TCB Drones

The Brief

TCB Drones entered the National Black Business Convention with an opportunity to introduce more people to the possibilities of drone technology and grow awareness of its services, training, and community impact.

But visibility alone wasn’t the goal.

The experience needed to move attendees from learning about TCB Drones to taking a next step, whether that meant exploring drone pilot training, engaging the company for aerial photography and videography, or opening the door to a potential organizational partnership.

The objective was to turn the attention generated by the convention into measurable opportunities for continued engagement.

The Gap

A trade show booth can attract attention without necessarily creating action.

TCB Drones had a compelling story to tell. As one of the first Black-owned organizations in Texas licensed to provide drone pilot training, the company could introduce attendees to career, business, and educational opportunities many had never considered.

The challenge was creating an experience that could communicate that value quickly while giving different audiences a clear reason to engage.

Without an intentional engagement strategy, the booth risked becoming another stop on the convention floor rather than an entry point into a longer relationship with the brand.

The Strategy

Brandfelt approached the booth as an activation rather than an exhibit.

Instead of relying on signage and collateral to carry the story, we designed the experience around conversation.

The strategy centered on creating a team of informed brand advocates who could identify what brought each attendee to the booth, connect that interest to the right TCB Drones opportunity, and guide the conversation toward a meaningful next step.

That led to the creation of the Flight Crew, an ambassador team trained to advocate for TCB Drones’ services, programs, and licensing opportunities.

We also developed conversation flows and engagement prompts that helped move attendees from curiosity to action while allowing the experience to feel personal rather than scripted.

The Activation

Over two days, the TCB Drones booth became a launchpad for conversations about what drone technology could make possible.

Brandfelt supported the experience through:

  • Development and training of the Flight Crew ambassador team
  • Interactive storytelling and branded booth touchpoints
  • Conversation flows designed around attendee interests
  • Engagement prompts that led attendees toward relevant next steps
  • Vendor coordination, logistics, and quality control throughout the activation

Rather than asking every visitor to take the same action, the experience created multiple pathways forward.

Someone interested in becoming a drone pilot could learn about the Drone Academy. A business owner could explore aerial photography or videography services. An organizational representative could begin a conversation about STEM education or another potential partnership.

The booth wasn’t simply designed to explain what TCB Drones does.

It was designed to help attendees find where they fit within it.
